Ask HN: Does email marketing and social platform automations work?

Hello! I am a co-founder at https://scalecast.eu and we've been struggling to find clients to develop custom software. We're quite new to this and there is only two of us - developers in the team, and marketing has been tough.

So, I was considering to try some LinkedIn automation to send connect requests with msgs and do email marketing via self developed scripts. Personally, I never read any form of promos and was wondering if its worth the time?
