CodeWarrior with PowerPlant was the direction I headed. I recall writing XPress XTensions that used PowerPlant for the UI.

It displaced MacApp and even the fantastic MPW Shell.

Around that time I was also doing NeXT apps with Obj-C++. Something that became very, very handy only a few years later.
