Ask HN: Has anyone gotten GPT4 to show sparks of AGI?

Microsoft researchers claim they believe it, I'm wondering if anyone on HN has specific examples they've seen themselves.

One interesting way could be trying to get GPT4 to output 'novel' information that only existed after their data cutoff (Sept 2021), maybe through logical or step by step prompting.

I would have been inclined to believe we were close with the initial version, but lately, GPT4 has been embarrassing to use on the chat interface.

Yes, initially I had it playing characters which were creative, surprising, dynamic, and insightful. But it's getting dumber by the day.

I had the exact same thing happen to me in Copilot Chat today and I was kinda shocked, it never happened before.

It's so weird, do you think OpenAI is lying about not making any changes to GPT recently?
