It's still the case that voting machines are suspect in terms of security and odd that they were being defended, except that Venzuelan boogeymen changing votes was sort of preposterous. It's easy to imagine some mischief with them in the next cycle to add evidence to the idea that they're bad.
Such claims are only dangerous when untrue. There was no evidence of widespread fraud in 2020. Now 2016 is a different story, I’m pretty sure we found out Russia was trying to tip the scales for Trump and there was a whole investigation about it
