Tech Literacy in General

Often I see people talking about getting a new phone because of the broken screen. Or the battery life deteriorated after 18 months. They does't seem to have the idea that things can be repaired.

Or stories like people think buying 8GB ram 256SSD macbook would never be an issue, in the year of 202x. After doing so they never stop complain about lack of storage.

Also people that never know that they can download a picture/video directly. Instead they always capture they screen in order to share or store that infomation for their whole life.

I once helped a year 4 CS student to setup a computer in the lab. I passed him the power adoptor for the 27 inch monitor. He look at me and asked "what is it for"?.

I am not here talking about stuff that you will argue "not being used in real life" like math or quantum physics. But the basic concepts and senses of daily technological devices. People seems know nothing despite owing and using them everyday.

What do you think about this topic?

The ideal would be that more time in school is dedicated to tech literacy, considering tech serves as quite an enhancement to humans who know what to do with it
