Next he'll chat up Marissa Meyer and ask how he can make his company as successful as Yahoo.
Reddit's going to get rid of remote work, but give Spez a private room to do boy stuff in?
I don't want to stereotype, but obnoxiously out of touch tech CEO is quickly becoming a theme.
Unfortunately, like Twitter, Reddit is a business. Not a charity or a free forever service. The owners decided that they need to make money or get run over by free loading AI companies for training on their data.

It has always been known that you did not 'own' anything on the platform in the first place. They do not care either way.

Overall, this is a melodramatic ant-hill explosion. Just like what happened with Twitter. with little to no-one other than the news sensationalizing the outrage for clicks again.

It's been clearly stated multiple times that the 3rd party developers are willing to pay a reasonable price (and already do for other providers), so by claiming they want a "free forever service" either you are aware of this fact and intentionally being deceptive or you are willingly remaining ignorant by refusing to read anything they've said.
And notably RIF had even been paying reddit in the past as part of a branding agreement until Steve Huffman became CEO and terminated the agreement.
Not just praises Elon, but wants the same for Reddit.

> Huffman said he saw Musk’s handling of Twitter, which he purchased last year, as an example for Reddit to follow.
