Ask HN: Access indie films after film festivals

I'm a huge fan of indie/foreign films and the best place to catch them is at film festivals the year they are released. Unfortunately, if the films aren't picked up by a big player for further distribution, they essentially vanish from view.

Is anyone working on a Netflix-like service for these films? It seems like a no-brainer, so usually that means there's something I don't know about the industry.
