Chin tucking might be dangerous for people with forward head posture. See this video.

Just a heads up for anyone like me who watches this video: The first 1:30 is a pedantic rant, but it’s actually really interesting once he gets to the point.

Basically, his claim is that forward head posture is actually spinal curvature combined with a compensating upward tilt in the neck. The result is that the exercises described in the OP would be unhelpful and potentially harmful.

Ergonomics are important. Posture is important. The “text neck” is probably going to affect more people overall, but for people like software engineers who are sitting at a desk all day, you also need to mind your shoulders. If the muscles that control your shoulders (there are many) become tight in the position where you’re hunched forward, you can expect symptoms in your hands similar to carpal tunnel syndrome, which has become the “poster disease” for software engineers, even though there aren’t any studies out there that support the notion that CTS is caused by keyboard + mouse use. Rather, the holding of vibrating tools has been implicated scientifically as the cause of CTS. Genetics are also a big factor- women tend to have smaller wrists than men and so are more often afflicted with CTS. Perhaps the most interesting fact of all though, is that CTS is easily fixed with a low-risk, non-invasive, endoscopic surgery… so it’s ironic that CTS is implicated AND revered so often.
Beside the points you mentioned, doing some exercises helps your health in general which is a big plus :)
Beside exercises, stretches and all that which obviously help, changing bad postural habits is absolutely needed, at rest and not at rest. Learn to feel what is right and what is wrong when it comes to posture, we can get so used to a bad posture that it feels right so that has to be un-learned and the correct way should be learned. And small things like tongue resting on the roof of mouth are that should not be ignored, so look into oral exercises as well.
