Show HN: Cubisum – A Number Puzzle Game (cubisum.com)

Hi HN,

I'd like to share a logic number puzzle game that I've been working on. Cubisum ("Cubism" + "sum") draws inspiration from Sudoku and Minesweeper, while also creating compositions reminiscent of Piet Mondrian's cubist work. The rules are simple, but I found it a surprising challenge (It was much harder to estimate the difficulty before I saw an actual game board). I hope you enjoy it -- any feedback would be much appreciated!

This is a cool concept and a fun game. I think you have something here. I played several more games than I planned to. I didn't love the popup after every game, but I wouldn't have minded the popup if I weren't doing a marathon.

Maybe consider limiting it so there's one easy, one medium, and one hard per day, like the NYT sudokus. That would prevent me from getting burned out on it and make me more likely to keep coming back over time. Also consider serving up stats like wordle upon completion.

Edit: Make your buttons at the bottom the same size, and consider a dark mode. The little details can really make it feel polished.

I'm glad you enjoy the game! Thanks for the great feedback. Making it a daily is certainly a viable design choice, though I'm happy the players have the freedom to enjoy as much content as they'd like.
