Ask HN: Can you view tweets while logged out?

I don't have a twitter account, nor do I want one. I do, however, occasionally want to read a tweet since relevant information is shared there. Since today it seems I am no longer able to veiw any tweets without being redirected to /login. Is my IP address in some sort of A/B test or is this the new norm? It surprises me, since after the Musk takeover the loginwall that existed on mobile was gone.

Alternative front-ends like nitter.net still seem to work, so that might be interesting to know if you're running into the same thing.

Here you have different front-ends for propietary services.

Replace "twitter.com" with "nitter.esmailelbob.xyz" for every URL.

For convenience, you can try Libredirect for Firefox, and IceRaven from FDroid as a Firefox alternative for Android.

If you install Libredirect and head to the settings, you can use the Esmailelbob instances for lots of services. I suggest such instances because these are the ones which worked better.

No, has been broken for me. Also means a lot of bridges to mastodon have been burnt, which I certainly notice in my feed.

Can view these via nitter proxies but then NSFW posts are totally blocked for 2 months or so, show this message instead:

or are completely gone from the stream
