Ask HN: Which AI tools do you use?

11 points by vasili111 ↗ HN
Recently, I see lots of different AI tools. I use VSCode extensions “ChatGPT - Genie AI” and “Code GPT” with GPT3 for programming. Also, I use ChatGPT plus for GPT4 for programming (if VSCode extensions mentioned above are not giving me good result), email and some other text generation. What AI tools do you use and how do you use them?

I've found most success with GPT offerings. I also like DALL-E 2 and Midjourney. I definitely make use of a bunch of model offerings available via HuggingFace.
I've been very impressed with Phind.com; at this point it has basically replaced 80% of my web searches for technical questions. The linked sources help with verification and getting context when necessary.
I wish phind had VSCode extension.
It’s coming soon!

will it be paid? or will it be freemium?
VS code extension could possibly be paid. The rest of the service will remain free/freemium.
A major update is coming this week :)

Thank you for creating it and keeping it free of charge.

Hoping to see it as a long-lived project - how / who is paying for it?

We’re VC-funded — Phind is a YC company. Don’t worry, we plan to be around for a while :)
To me, VC-funded is exactly what worries me.

Unnecessary pressure and unrealistic growth expectations push toward quick and sure enshittification of a successful service or the shutdown of an insufficiency (unrealistic) successful one.

My hat said I love phind very much - hope you can stay in business.

We have great investors (including YC) who are very much aligned with our goal of making the most kickass pair programming assistant that's plugged into everything (including the internet).
Recently, I started using this tool called OpenTools, this is like ChatGPT but to find out the right AI tool, helping a lot in keeping myself up to date with AI and without wasting hours.
