5% interest rates seem extremely effective.
Super ironic that a post on Mastadon.social 7 hours ago said: "This is hilariously stupid. I mean, just painfully stupid. And, yes, it's real." in response to the temporary rate limit announcement.

What's the difference in computing efficiency between federated services and trad or even serverless cloud monstrosities? I recall an offhanded remark federation take an order of magnitude more compute, which seemed unsurprising for a modern fad - but perhaps that's way off?
...is it? It seems up to me.
Works on my machine.
