Thriller was my first “favorite album”. I wore out the CD case and the creases in the lyrics book.
To me, Billie Jean was the epitome of cool. That beat was unmistakable, I remember recognizing it even before the synths came in, playing softly in the background at a crowded Pizza Hut.
The home demo is cool, you can hear MJ mumbling what later became the story of a paternity dispute that so many urban kids—including myself—can unfortunately relate to.
