If you don't have an account (or aren't logged in) that is what you get now. Been like that for a few days as part of their defense against excessive scraping or so Musk claims, but unclear if they will ever re-enable unauth'ed reads.
Hopefully not. I'd like to see them require a paid account just to access the site and see any tweets. Even better, make it per-use: instead of a flat monthly fee, charge $X for viewing Y tweets, and $A for writing $B tweets. On top of this, (paying) readers should be forced to view ads, with their accounts locked if an ad-blocker is detected, with an extra unlocking fee to be paid to get access to their account again.
Overall, I think Elon is doing okay with the changes to Twitter, but I think there's a lot more he could be doing to improve profitability, such as my proposals above.
We have just launched a new, improved version of TweetDeck. All users can continue to access their saved searches & workflows via tweetdeck.twitter.com by selecting “Try the new TweetDeck” in the bottom left menu.
Some notes on getting started and the future of the product below:
- All your saved searches, lists, and columns will carry over to the new TweetDeck. You’ll be prompted to import your columns when you load the application for the first time.
- TweetDeck now supports full composer functionality, Spaces, video docking, polls, and more.
- Teams functionality in TweetDeck is temporarily unavailable and will be restored in the coming weeks.
- In 30 days, users must be Verified to access TweetDeck.

No way this is gonna make me shell out for a cringe mark. Buying organic followers is harder than this ("Rocket to the top of replies, mentions, and search" - an actual quote from @TwitterBlue). Look at owner's own account: 146.4M followers, 94 subscribers to his premium tweets.
One of the new features added since Elon took over Twitter is the ability to pay to subscribe to a Twitter account, which gets you access to that account's premium/exclusive tweets among other things.[0] They are poking fun at the fact that Elon himself offers subscriptions and apparently has converted somewhat less than one in a million of his followers.
The Beta has been crap from the time it appeared years ago, but it is consolidation of codebase it seems which I understand. Thing is it kills key features power-users have relied on for years and years (many of whom were drivers of value to the platform) so it really sucks that this is where it ends up. It's just a bummer.
And definitely not worth paying for a lameo bluecheck for.

Lock it down and throw the key. And stay inside.
