I used to run something similar on my Mac - key command to write python. Selected text as stdin. Stdout to replace selected text (or to insert at cursor).
Tbh, the hardest thing was remembering to use it. Though using native language as input is probably so much easier, maybe it solves that problem too. Thanks for sharing.
