They won’t and they can’t. Apple’s largest acquisition to date is Beats for $3B. Disney would cost Apple at least $200B (premium over current market cap).

But the biggest reason is that it won’t get approved by governments around the world. Heck, the UK made Facebook undo its $300m transaction for Gyphy. There’s no way governments would let Apple buy a $200B company.

In my opinion, it actually does make some sense for Apple to buy Disney. Their brands match. Apple has services such as Apple TV+ that synergizes well with Disney. And of course Apple would get a treasure trove of IPs to make content from. Lastly, Apple is one company big enough to outright buy Disney.

I think Disney is overvalued. I believe people's eyes get glossed over with this "Wonderful world of disney" spiel. They rely on this legacy portfolio of content and who knows what's going to happen with streaming and movies in the next 5-10-20 years because of this greater tech component that's influencing it.
