I knew him from the song, "Because I Got High..."
Ah, I saw the news of his legal trouble and had heard "Because I Got High" before, but didn't put them together to realize it was the same person. The version you linked is more obscene than what I remember, but still delightful.
i NSFW'd it. it isnt radio version for sure.
Probably a good idea, but that wasn't intended as a complaint ;)
They used to use that song to teach us how bad weed was

Sucks for them, now I just love afroman

I hated that song, but I too find myself loving how he turned this raid around
I really appreciate the work Fire is doing, especially as the ACLU seems to have lost some of its traditional interest in these types of 1st Amendment cases.
It seems like a pretty "downhill" battle and repression wouldn't really have worked either way if no entity like this had intervened. It's a nice case to blow up for publicity and further making fun of such blatantly corrupt and incompetent cops, but I don't think it was in need of material resources to win.
> but I don't think it was in need of material resources to win.

The cops wasted resources on the failed raid that led to them being embarrassed.

If your viewpoint is “material resources being wasted” is bad, then call out the side that started wasting resources first. They were the catalyst for “resources” being wasted.

That wasn't my point? It was that the ACLU probably has bigger fish to fry. This one didn't need a legal intervention by the ACLU. They'll win this one anyway.
Yes, and the police have bigger fish to fry as well. Your focus is still one-sided. That’s my point.
Every time Afroman gets mentioned in the headlines, his videos get a few more views from me. There's no such thing as bad publicity.

"Cause I [allegedly] got high..."

"Cause I [allegedly] got hiiiiiii~~~i~~~i~ighhhhhhighhh."

Pass one 'round for our locked-up smokehomies.

Thanks, I did not read the article and was out of the loop. Now I'm caught up.

Smashing someone's door to get a piece of his mama's lemon pound cake. What the hell is wrong with US police, man?
