why did elon buy twitter just to destroy it
I dont think he actually meant to buy it.

I think he originally was making a 420 joke and the twitter people jumped at the opportunity to stick it to him.

I used to respect him but he kind of came off the rails about the time he did that interview smoking pot.

I think to him, money is just a utility to help do whatever he wants. Whether that is space exploration, trolling, stroking his ego,etc... it appears to be a manifestation of his insecurities with the whole twitter thing, because he found out that a lot of people don't like him despite money, power and acheivements like spacex. He can't wrap his head around the fact that being mean and lackig humility makes you likeable only by people who mistake arrogance for strength and cruelty for being decisive and doing what needs to be done. But the vocal majority for their own reasons didn't like him, so his purchase of twitter was him taking the reins and correcting twitter by getting rid of people who don't like him so that he can prove there is nothing wrong with him, it was everyone else (the former vocal minority) favored by the old twitter's ways that were wrong. He, in his narcissism is a bonafide hero, wronged by the people he's saving! Lol

But in seriousness, I have no idea why he gives a shit what people think of him or why he tries hard to prove he doesn't give a shit. A lot of things piss me off about him, one of those being how he doesn't value money yet he is a billionaire. Wasting money on things that you want makes a lot of sense, just wasting money because you don't value it enough, now that's something only a person who lacks dreams and vision, who hasn't earned most of his money would do.

Because even with all his money there is something that he can't buy... Respect.
I don’t know, what he’s done so far has created a massive vibe switch so I think what he has done is take Twitter from negative social value to neutral.
The only reason I tolerate his ways is just to shake up the tech industry, and having a different approaches on anything is always welcomed.
