This is as close to a Hollywood rags to riches story as it gets.

Re "Do you know other jobs that can be done remotely and where non-native English speakers aren’t at such a big disadvantage?", design also comes to mind, but software engineering seems to be the absolute best.

Thank you. Design is very broad, what specialization do you think works best for non native speakers? Asking because Code to Inspire also proposes design courses now.
Anything that's more technical and doesn't require much communication, so the further away from graphic design the better. UX is probably tricky too because it often takes a lot of team work and interactions with product. Maybe UI / component design?

Let me ask a designer friend and shares the results by email.

Absolutely, UI/component design could be a great fit! It tends to be more technical and less reliant on extensive communication or team interactions compared to UX design. Your designer friend's input will be valuable, and I look forward to hearing the results via email. Thanks for exploring the possibilities!
This was an inspirational story!

I was born and raised in Pakistan where it’s already tough to get into tech as a woman despite not having a Taliban government.

It’s crazy that like being a doctor is socially acceptable and becoming a developer isn’t?!

Thank you! Let's challenge societal norms and empower women to fearlessly pursue tech careers. Together, we can break barriers and promote inclusivity in the industry!
This was a very heartwarming and inspiring read, thank you for sharing. I wish you the best of luck with your future career.
I'm glad you found it heartwarming and inspiring, thank you for your support and best wishes!
Incredible journey, Wajiha! As a fellow empowered minority in tech, your story resonates deeply with me. Keep shining and making a difference! #WomenInTech #AfghanTech #CodingJourney
I find this inspiring. Goes to show there is no limit to how far we can go no matter the constraints. Power in limitation.
Amazing story! It really shows how worth it and life changing it can be to keep going and trying to make a difference in a broken system.
amazing Wajiha! I hope this incridible energy find another women who wants to code and we can do our best to make a way to them
Wow Wajiha!

So inspiring that against all odds you followed your calling and the reward wasn't late to follow! And you didn't even stop there, you started helping others as well

Best of luck and hope to see more publications from you <3
