When I thought Musk couldn't get any lower, reinstating an account that posted CSAM and just deleting the posts certainly is a new level he's managed to reach.
It's hard to guess, but posting that CSAM as evidence in service of some open-source investigation (I.e. "I found this - can someone look into it?") is consistent with and supported by what little context we have (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36886252). If you have reason to believe it was posted out of prurient interest instead, you're welcome to share it.
Truly amazing that we’ve reached the point where Elon stans will defend posting CSAM rather than admit their cult leader is wrong.
Objections to more context are never in good faith.

OSINT and CSAM are a bad combination to start with, and reposting pictures of children being victimized on social media is exactly the opposite of responsible investigation.

I agree it is not responsible, as part of an investigation or not.
