Ask HN: What is your weekend schedule?

11 points by tryauuum ↗ HN
I'm pretty productive and happy during workdays. However, I struggle with figuring out how to spend my weekends in a way that's either fun and/or productive. This is an issue I've had even back in my home country, and it continues now that I'm living abroad.

This problem will probably fix itself once I have children, but until then... I'm curious, if you enjoy your weekends, what does your weekend schedule look like?

If I feel like it, I might spend a couple of hours hacking on OnlineOrNot.

Otherwise, weekends are to be enjoyed outside.

(During the week though, 2 hours every morning before work, working on the business, no excuses)

I go outside and make no effort to be productive. If I do a project it is with no deadlines or expectations.
No schedule. There's three things basically: Rest, Burn energy, or Maintenance

Rest takes priority, always. It should be properly relaxing. A common trap is social media, gaming, or some other activity that is not exactly rest. Non-rest idleness is how the weekend goes by unproductively.

Next, maintenance. Laundry, groceries, mopping, wiping, cutting grass, cutting hair, visiting relatives. Yes, you have to maintain relationships too.

And then energy stuff when there's excess capacity. Sometimes we drive to a random town, buy groceries from the beach. Throw a party. Build a side app. Hiking. Going for a run.

Reenergizing isn't always just lying down, sometimes you need to move actively too.

The point of weekends is to not have a schedule
I was basically looking for this answer
Have coffee, then search for the sun, then eat the classic "Alaminuta"... If I wake up early enough, go for a run too.
As close to my weekday schedule as practical.

Or vice versa.

Routine is better for me.

Good luck.

nothing, why? It's a weekend

I drink beer, hang out with my wife or do sports

My weekends are organized the same ways as my weekdays (minus the meetings).

I wake up without an alarm, take a quick shower, open my notebook and write down the tasks I would like to accomplish for the day.

I then get to work.

I will take longer lunch and diners with friends.
