People like to dismiss the idea of large, prolonged conspiracies: “How could so many people keep a secret? People talk!” Yeah, they do.[0] But it doesn’t matter. The dismaying reality is that if le Fourth Estate doesn’t report on it (or, equally often, just lies about it), it might as well never have happened. I’ve seen that happen with my own eyes.
And, even worse, it’s so digustingly easy to get people to play cop, against their better judgement.
