I already use a Chrome extension that blocks videos on the homepage, the recommended/similar videos sidebar, the comments, and thumbnails...

Why not just show your subscription feed instead?
Excellent! I'd be ecstatic if the YouTube homepage had nothing but a search box.
So since when is the YouTube home feed a feature that requires watch or search history? It's hard enough as it is to find interesting new things if history is on, because the goal for the algorithm is to present something relatable to me.

All social media really does is to isolate people by not showing alternative points of view on the world.

I was just about to ask why Youtube is no longer show the usual recommendations when you watch a couple of videos on desktop without login, I guess this is a way to force users to login?
