The image shows a big chunk of levitating matter labeled LK-99, so I guess it’s a superconductor.
Yeah, it needs to be doped with a room temperature superconductor, lol.
Definitely needs dopes for it to work.
Did anyone review this article before publishing it? Typos like “precursos”, really?
Above all LK-99 looks to be physically interesting and worth studying and a step forward for science. Now if it is actually super conducting, awesome, that’s a bonus.

Just a little strange that something so sophisticated was made by people so sloppy.

Hahahahaha. 99% of chemistry is done this way. The term used is 'serendipitous' - aka I accidentally grabbed the wrong bottle. Honestly.
I remember reading how some scientist or inventor had alloyed iron/steel with various other metals and found a lot of samples rusted, but one with chromium was very shiny and didn't rust.

Also the original "point contact transistor" was pretty crude and impractical.

Even if it's not a superconductor, it will inspire a new wave of scientists working on them.
