I was thinking it would be more appropriate for a car company to hire someone who has managed large embedded development projects instead of a guy who's done a web site. But that might be short-changing Mr. Stern. He's a McKinsey guy who's held successively larger product management and "bidnezz" roles for a while. I suspect that's why they're hiring him, not because he managed a streaming service.

Though... I do sort of wonder... why is Ford hiring a McKinsey business guy to run their software group? I guess you do that if you're a big company.

Hmm. Looks like they're trying to convert Ford vehicles into "platforms" for "innovative customer experiences."

So... you know those annoying ads that play while you're pumping gas? Those are coming to your Ford vehicle (admittedly, that's a bit of a stretch, but if it does happen, I'll look like I have Blavatsky level clairvoyance.)

Maybe they're trying to get in the market of selling services or software to other car companies?
