Ask HN: Coming from a data analysis background how to succeed as a BI manager?

1 points by boredemployee ↗ HN
Hello, I've landed a new job that might be a bit of a stretch for me. Essentially, I will be working in the business area, thinking about strategies and developing KPIs and metrics that make the company focus more on its customers and business opportunities.

I have 3 years of experience as a data analyst and am well-versed in ecommerce metrics.

However, I mainly focused on retrieving them and creating reports/dashboards alongside the product owner. But now, I believe I will need to be more proactive and propose metrics, guiding the company, rather than waiting for requests to drop into my lap.

How can I prepare? Are there any courses or readings you'd recommend?
