I think I've coined about 60 million random UUIDs. I definitely have done projects on such a scale that I would have coined a few billion UUIDs if I'd used UUIDs.
Why the hell not? It sure would be fun. Hell, I could setup a bot net and just generate accounts and reasonable sounding spam in mass with LLMs and no one would be the wiser.
Seems like a fine way to fight back.
HN: Delete my comments, and then delete my account of face the wrath of a programmer scorned. I won’t do anything illegal but I will annoy the fuck out of you.
Because you're not at all acting in your own best interest, you've been commenting on HN linked to your very unique real name for years and now suddenly you think you're going to go ballistic on this forum and walk away without a scratch? It will make you into a pariah and it's a very small world. You're attracting a ton of attention to yourself while you claim you want to become invisible, the Streisand effect is real and this isn't helping you at all.
The wrath of a programmer scorned that hopes to be hired in the future does not include pissing off a community of this size in their own field linked to their own name. If you keep this up nobody is going to want you within a hundred miles of their IT infrastructure. Be smart, mail dang about which comments you want to have deleted and I'm sure he'll be happy to help, even if it doesn't happen on your immediate timetable. And be aware that there exist countless copies of the HN database each of which can be used to link your nick to your real life ID.
Oh, and you may want to delete your disparaging comment about Paul Graham while you're at it, that's actionable. Smart wording isn't going to help you, it is clear that you are trying to smear his reputation.

Leave the arm chair lawyering to the lawyers.
Perhaps we can help skew the models the train off comments drift a bit further away from anything useful.
