Ask HN: Would you find taking a one sided AI interview weird?
I recently got invited for a virtual on-demand interview. The process requires the use of computer vision, presumably to analyze my emotions & reactions. While I understand the potential benefits, I'm also aware of the ongoing debates about biases and limitations of computer vision, especially in recruitment contexts.
Would fellow devs be comfortable with this? Do you think the potential benefits outweigh the concerns? How do you feel about companies using such technology in their hiring processes?
Here's the interview platform's website: https://easyhire.me/ (Please scroll down to Emotion Analysis)

[ 3.0 ms ] story [ 23.7 ms ] threadFor one thing, a legitimate interview has to be a two-way street. I'm interviewing them just as much as they're interviewing me. If I can't get what I need from the "interview", I'm out.
For another, if they really are analyzing my image to try to read my mind, then I don't trust that company's judgement. I'm out.
And also, if a company is dehumanizing me right up front like that, can you imagine the nightmare that must be waiting if I were to actually work there? I can. I'm out.
Right, they might as well ask you to submit to a phrenology exam. All people seem to care about is they "AI" results are uncorrelated with race and gender and whatnot. They could otherside be complet bullshit, but as long as it's equal bullshit nobody seems concerned about using physiognomy to determine if you hire someone. Maybe it's just by broad forehead talking .
