A woodlot on my property needs thinning because the trees are crowding each other and growth is slowing, and this program will help pay for my work. I'll be girdling some trees to leave as snags, scattering branches to leave as organic matter (depending on fire concern), making a few piles for animal shelters, and using some of the larger logs for firewood.
