Take the Money and Run?

I work at Big Tech Co, and I recently had my "role eliminated".

I was offered 90 days to find a new role within the company, and if I can't find one I get 6 months severance.

There have been multiple rounds of layoffs at my company, so it's unclear when they would stop doing them (if ever).

Unsure if I should spend the next 90 days doing interview prep and take the severance, or try to find an internal position and hope I don't get eliminated again (with a worse severance).

I think I might already have an internal position lined up FWIW, but for anyone else who has gone through layoffs:

Should I take the severance no matter what (i.e. it's only going to get worse here)?

If you get six months' severance and find a job before the six months is up, do you get to double-dip?
(Had to make a throwaway because of `noprocrast` on my main)

Yes, I would get to double-dip.

Man, I'd go for that, not gonna lie.
Usually, this kind of company is just going worse and worse. The atmosphere will be shitty. And good luck getting a raise, a budget for something or have your laptop renewed.

It's usually better to go somewhere else and find a place where you will feel better and less insecurity.
