Ask HN: How does an anonymous Wikipedia contributor unblock theirselves?

4 points by PreInternet01 ↗ HN
So, I noticed a trivial spelling mistake on Wikipedia. Since, after all, this is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit", I tried to, you know, like, edit the offending article. This, however, was not appreciated:

The IP address or range 10.80.1.7 has been blocked (disabled) for the following reason(s):

There are multiple blocks against your account and/or IP address
Well, the block is certainly not against my account, since I'm not logged in, and not against my IP address either, since that's definitely not in the RFC1918 range, and I try not to use any legacy protocols anyway, thank you very much.

So, what now? I tried the various links from Wikipedia "support", but these all seem to require I leave a comment on my account's "talk" page, which I don't have nor want.

Could it be CGNAT?
Nope. The CGNAT IP range is 100.64.0.0/10, which doesn't match the 10.0.0.0/8 RFC1918 range the error message is referencing.

My ISP offers native IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity anyway; CGNAT is more common for mobile connections.
