I met a woman that fled Ukraine with two small kids. Sad story. I spend some time with her and her most notable story about (pre-war) Ukraine is that you can buy anything. I mean, you buy your drivers license through bribes because it’s cheaper than taking the lessons and an exam. You bribe your physician because you don’t want to be enlisted. Bridges are planned for decades but never realized because money keeps disappearing somewhere in the process. The country is deeply deeply corrupt. Very friendly woman though, heart in the right place as they say.
