Made a small tool to publish albums from Apple Photos online.

The goal is to: 1) view photos in different ways: timeline, grid etc 2) allow people to bring their own domain 3) allow people to embed those photos in other places online

Basically I'm trying to make apple photos web friendly.

It works in a very simple way.

Your photos are in your iCloud, but you share specific albums that you want to make public.

Cool project. It would be helpful if it was more explicit what this does vs the already existing publicly shareable link that you get for apple photos.

agree!

Currently it allows you to see photos in 2 different ways: timeline and grid.

It also allows you to add custom domain name so you can have it on your own website.

and other things are mostly work in progress: add ability to embed photos on other websites, API, plus some social features - like follow albums and users.

so mostly upcoming features is what makes it really different from the default sharing

For one it doesn't show my full iCloud account name. That is really annoying. While I am not asking to be "truly" anonymous" (that would be nice thoguh), I would't mind sharing an iCloud link which doesn't involve any personal data about me. I mean there could be one radio button like "Anonymize" just like there is one for "Location" and "All Photos Data".

Very cool idea, would only be interested if self-hosted options were available though.

yeah, I think it’s possible for sure. just takes work and time to implement
