Tell HN: Send Recruiters an Interest Form

I get a good amount of messages from recruiters about positions they’re trying to fill. I don’t have time to look at all of them, and it’s hard to even determine whether they’re worth applying to. Generally speaking, the information asymmetry between candidates and companies is a pretty big source of inefficiency in the job market.

Anyways, for a few weeks now, I have been autoreplying to recruiters with a “thank you, please fill out my form” blurb. The form has questions about remote work, pay, benefits, the company, and the role itself.

Doing this helps me to filter out low-value job spammers as well as give me an idea of whether the position is worth applying to.

Btw, if a jobs site like LinkedIn or Monster included this, it would be a killer feature. I could rank companies with my own custom formula to find the best ones to apply to. Please steal this idea.
