Aye current generation missed the golden years of this stuff, but I’m glad the musicians of this genre are for the most part all still alive and not dead from ODing or worse.
The visuals are generated and manipulated in real time by Weirdcode, an artist who has been working with Aphex Twin for years now. He gave a lecture a couple of years ago where he explained his work process [1].
The guy is the best contemporary musician alive, period.
His influence on music keeps being felt 2 decades after his peak.
I only saw him once, at the LED festival in london, the sound was garbage and die Antwoort were dancing over it dressed up as Pikachu. Everyone went totally mad. The guy didn’t lift his face from the knobs right until the end when he gave the audience a double thumbs up.
Also I just discovered Bogdan Raczynski, an artist who influenced Aphex Twin who is largely unknown. He’s also really good

> 1:55:54-1:59:17 I don't really know how to discern individual tracks here
edit -- is it just me, or does the audio quality seem pretty naff in places ? i wonder if there might be another "(alt. audio)" version coming.
One of his newer tunes, which is dedicated to his late parents, is an absolute ripper [1].
Long live Aphex Twin.
