Oh no, the EU is forcing companies to respect my rights? Truly, these are the darkest of times.

On a more serious note, the GDPR isn't being enforced too strictly, normally websites ought to make it as easy to opt out of tracking cookies as it is to opt in, but good luck finding a site which abides by that standard. Usually what you get is the choice between "I accept all cookies" (oh sorry, "recommended" cookies) or "I will click off every single category of cookie one at a time".

I sincerely can't tell whether or not this is Poe's Law in action, comparing the EU to China because of the GDPR is like comparing Universal Suffrage to Apartheid.
