Why doesn't UPS/FedEx have Parcel Locker as a delivery option?

I mean there is obviously the default reason being they haven't updated the app yet but parcel lockers have been a thing for a while now. Putting on our PM hat for a second, is there a hidden reason for them not adding it to the app/web as a delivery option? it's all stuff like (front door which could mean front of building or front of apt, back door etc).

Could it just be a liabiity thing? Does delivering it to a locker count as someone having signed for it or not? and if no maybe thats why. Or a time issue. Might add 2-3 mins per delivery.

Why should they? It wouldn't make them any more money.

Am I really going to choose one vendor over another because they use UPS who offers it instead of Fedex who doesn't? Probably not.

Shippers pay parcel bills, not the recipients.

pov is from the reciever not the shipper.

Parcel Lockers could help save a round trip. I would gladly sign off on leaving a signature required package in the locker in my building as opposed to having them redeliver it.

Save time since all the delivery places is in one place as opposed to multiple floors.

Ide gladly pay a buck or 2 to have my more sensitive packages (ammo/gun parts, electronics, iphones etc) be guaranteed to be delivered to a locker in my building.

And lastly, do you really want to leave blood for amazon to smell? Better cannabalize yourself before someone else does :)

They exist. Imo they are probably really expensive to place and you need to deal with shitty user behavior.

UPS doesn’t know what’s in the box. People are going to not pick up the bucket of stool samples, which will explode in the hot metal box after a week.

Asset heavy businesses that would prefer to not have more assets to take care of.
