I remember downloading this on my friends computer that had AOL at the time and trolling chat rooms. I'm pretty sure it did other nefarious stuff as well, such as being able to boot people offline from chat rooms. Good times.
BLAST. FROM THE PAST!

I can’t believe the site is still up too!

Me either! I had no idea. Just thought about Methodus in the shower this morning and decided to Google...
AOL progz were awesome. I vaguely remember booting people by pasting something like C:/<CON>/<CON> into chats.

Good times

I remember a certain version of AIM crashed if you sent “̂”
I went deep down AOL memory lane about 6-12 months ago, it seems like a lot of us who were influenced by AOL subculture growing up did the same through the pandemic. Some good links for anyone who might want to enter the same rabbit hole:

what did patorjk used to be? it's so familiar but it wasn't a bland WordPress blog.

or maybe I just used a prog he wrote.

or maybe I knew him. been so long.

It had a lot of VB programming and AOL-related stuff. Archive.org might have it
I used several AIM/AOL progz back in the day, but never heard of methodus toolz. Man, that’s a lot of features. They were really going for the all-in-one experience. Wonder where they are now…
They probably used the code base for that really big Chinese app that does absolutely everything. (The name escapes me.)
