Waste time and money for a company.
Usually because a company doesn’t care about improving, they just care about virtue signaling. Benefits are only seen if the work is taken seriously.
From reading those comments, it feels like DEI is the HR equivalent of a Scrum Master. If done properly (read: people listen and they have the authority to make meaningful change), it can benefit the org and create a healthy environment.

But the reality is that they are usually there just so the org can check a box.
