I don't understand when people make up fake quotes.
What made you read this as a quote?
Possibly the leading greater-than sign, a symbol used by a lot of software to indicate quotes.
Yeah I agree that the ‘gt’ symbol in this case could be a bit confusing, but in the context at least I read it as a way to say something along the lines of “hey, this could be something that might align with Simon’s work of making datasets easier to explore”.

Aren't there better ways to share this rather than a big csv?

Google BigQuery public datasets and Kaggle. Just two from top of my head.

Everybody can upload a big csv to archive.org, or distribute it through Tor or BitTorrent.

None of that works for your solutions without converting to something like... CSV.

Well but you can actually use the data without other tools.

And you can still easily export and offer the CSV as well.

Here we have precise stats broken down by race, age, drug addiction, mental illness, gender identity... This is not going to backfire at all...
Honest question: what are some scenarios you think this will cause a backfire?
