There is no easy or obvious common way to check that a lossless audio file actually originated from lossless audio. Bandcamp especially is like the wild-west. To explain, an mp3 converted to a WAV is an mp3 wrapped in a WAV. Audio cannot be upscaled once processed as lossy.
