Ah yes, the drug forced on the >50 million people in the USA with allergies, to keep the ~1.5M people who tried methamphetamine from getting their kicks.
I'm conflicted. The OTC phenylephrine hydrochloride pills from CVS always seemed to help me with my post-nasal drip, however, the advertised purpose of decongestion was never a use-case for me. Allergies are a huge problem for many people and I'm not surprised that these pills are ineffective for many. Still, I'll be disappointed to see these go, because they do what I need them to.
I've had good results with the newish antihistamine levocetirizine (generic for Xyzal), as well as guaifenesin extended release pills for general mucus relief. Both are OTC and cheap in generic form.
