I appreciate good snark as much as the next guy, but I’m not sure what the alternative is. If you have old iPhone accessories and a new iPhone, this dongle is what you need.

I don't really have specific 'phone' accessories but $29 could pay for something instead of a dongle.

Agreed, I'd rather have a dongle for compatibility than not be able to use older, still-working accessories just because the EU mandated a connector change.

No dongle would mean hugely increased e-waste.
