I found this article quite interesting as it isn't trying to hammer home a "one true theory" -- its headline even starts with an indefinite article ("A", not "The").
This is more: "here's a factor, it looks pretty important, here's some drivers of the change, here's someone who talks about the drawbacks, here's a reason I might be overweighted..." An approach I would expect more likely in an academic blog rather than an essay in a newspaper.
