I've got some mixed feelings about this. Speeding can be dangerous, but the limits in some areas are just silly. There are four-lane roads in Palo Alto, for example, where the speed limit is 25 mph: completely absurd.

Aside from that, privacy/data security concerns are actually a thing. We can't expect complete privacy in public, perhaps, but that doesn't mean we should be exposed to the potential of having embarrassing moments published in perpetuity on the internet.

The need for this bill is confusing to me. There are already many cameras in Oakland, San Jose, San Leandro just to name a few places. Some are for speeding, some are watching train track crossings and ticketing people that ignore the light and end up blocking the tracks. Did they all get removed in the last couple of years?
