Learning C. Never written any serious code in it, but still among most usefull skills to have.

Why C? What was so special about learning it? You got to fiddle with the computer's memory structure and pointers?

The web. In the 90s I made myself 'the web guy' in the software company I worked for just by getting on it at home and playing with what tools there were.
