Best free CAD software for novice with access to great hardware?

So, I find myself on a scientific research vessel with, at last count, 4 3D printers, and I randomly found a 3DConnexion gathering dust on a shelf in our workspace. I have a macbook pro and no money, but I have Starlink for data. What's the best way to get started?

if you want to actually print, check for filament!
Check out onshape.com (you can create a free account) or fusion360. Both have free tiers, and both have tutorials that will teach you the basics of cad.
