Ask HN: Open-Source iTunes Backup?

I don't live in Apple ecosystem but wife ( and one more family unit member ) does and I am trying to move everything from recent trip to main house backup. I dislike itunes on windows. I just want to backup pictures..

Is there an open source alternative to itunes? I swear I used one 8 years ago when we did our last road trip.
