Former President Donald Trump urged Republicans to force a government shutdown if they don’t get “everything” they’re asking for in the 2024 budget negotiations as lawmakers have just six days to come to an agreement before the existing spending plan expires.
Destroy decades of prosperity if he can point the finger at someone else.
A very low-class approach.
With all his bankruptcies and unfair dealing there has always been quite a wake of financial devastation wherever he went.
Go ahead, shut down the government, it won't last long but it will still cost every American dearly and take a lot longer to restabilize than the shutdown duration. Relatively speaking a shutdown could last quite a while and it wouldn't bother Trump and his kin at all by comparison.
With many more facts out confirming from many angles the ways he has always failed to have enough leadership ability for a leadership position, I think more can agree now that he can most accurately be described as disgraced ex-President Trump. No reason to wait for convictions on any felonies, so he's not actually a convict but the disgrace is well-established and reeking more so all the time. Especially with today's insurrectionist rhetoric encouraging his fans to financially shutdown which everybody should know will do permanent damage to the country itself by obliterating intolerable amounts of wealth daily until corrected. What patriotic American wants to do permanent damage?
I would estimate that certain political factions are in position to remain irrational longer than average citizens can remain solvent, and may leverage that in a predatory way.
Trump's approach has always been about deflecting blame and causing chaos. His track record of bankruptcies and unfair dealings speaks volumes about his character. A government shutdown may not affect him and his inner circle, but it will certainly hurt everyday Americans and take a long time to recover from. It's clear that he lacks the leadership abilities needed for the role he held, and the disgrace is becoming more evident with time. Encouraging financial shutdowns is unpatriotic and harmful to our country. Some political factions seem willing to prioritize their agendas over the well-being of the nation.
