I read the article, and it seems I should worry, and I agree. Then it goes on to state that "Unfortunately, there’s no single easy answer, and it’s often very difficult for individuals to reduce their noise exposure."
So I should worry, but I can't do anything about it.
I do not like reading this type of news at all, it has a negative psychological effect on me, and a lot of news seems to follow this pattern.
We're all going to die, get cancer, ingest microplastics, climate change is going to kill us, but there's nothing we can do about it. Great. I am none the wiser and I'm measurably more miserable. Why should I continue reading the news?
You can. I use noise-cancelling earphones and earplugs to sleep.

I share your feeling.

I think we should policy our news consumption and that there's a middle ground between information and sanity though this is a hard problem. News and social media are extremely harmful to mental health and productivity.
I use https://www.newsminimalist.com/ and mostly just read the headlines. Take a minute per day and saves me from opening news sites during the day.

Tangent: for me the sentence you quoted sounds a lot like ChatGPT, but I'm pretty that's just paranoia. I like reading the Guardian.
